Human Spirituality: Your Pathway to Inner Wisdom
Spirit once shared a profound truth: “True learning comes directly from individual experience. In contrast, books often store what isn’t worth learning.” Books are merely two-dimensional images, presenting sequences of thousands of words printed on flat pages. The real value of any book isn’t in the physical object itself. Instead, its worth lies in how those organized words inspire thought. This thought then activates our human experience. Therefore, my primary intention in sharing these insights on Pathway to a Healthy Lifestyle is to inspire your thought process. Like any other valuable resource, this content will be meaningful to the degree that it stimulates your active thinking about **human spirituality**.
On this page, I will explore the dimensions of the human mind. Your thought processes can facilitate your personal growth and transformation. This directly relates to your inner spirit. Furthermore, it helps you fulfill your practical everyday needs. We will explore answers to vital questions, such as: Do we have a universal purpose? Is there an individual life purpose uniquely our own? How do we discover that purpose? Once you gain knowledge of who you truly are, how do you best apply that understanding in your daily life?
The principles and methods I introduce here draw from diverse sources. These include Judeo-Christian values, Buddhist psychology, and ancient Egyptian texts. I also incorporate insights from the works of Andrew Jackson Davis, Edgar Cayce, Manly P. Hall, Carl Jung, the Bhagavad Gita, and numerous shamanic traditions. These sources all significantly contributed to my inner growth. Objectifying personal spiritual knowledge and communicating it proves challenging. Nevertheless, I have strived for both emotional and intellectual honesty throughout this process.
Spirit Communication: A Core of Human Spirituality
The concept of “Spirit Communication: The Soul’s Path” truly reflects a journey of examining your inner spirit and personal values within **human spirituality**. The soul undertakes a unique sojourn. As individual souls, we collectively explore our identity within the human community. This journey defines the soul’s path. Furthermore, since this path ultimately guides us towards the divine, it represents an ascendant journey of profound spiritual growth.
We are currently experiencing a spiritual renaissance. People are increasingly asking classical metaphysical questions about life’s meaning and purpose. Over the last two decades, vast amounts of information on esoteric and metaphysical subjects have now readily available. I often refer to this wave of understanding as New Thought or New Age Thought.
Many ponder the purpose of this renaissance. How can it serve you individually, society, and the world community? I believe that, as a society, we are now re-embracing one another. We actively break down communication barriers, rediscovering fundamental truths about ourselves—both psychologically and socially—that we may have forgotten. This awakening profoundly impacts our society’s mainstream, the human community as a whole. In truth, we are the mainstream. We are actively reclaiming these vital inner spiritual values.
Techniques for Deepening Spiritual Awareness in Human Spirituality
Many techniques and methods exist to help you increase your awareness of spirituality and spiritual values. Trance channeling is one such technique. This method gained significant attention over the past decade. You might be familiar with trance channeling through the work of Jane Roberts. In the 1960s, she published the teachings of a channeled entity known as Seth. Others explored extensive materials based on the channelings of Edgar Cayce earlier this century. We also see a resurgence of interest in the Swedish channel Emanuel Swedenborg, who lived in the eighteenth century. Clearly, trance channeling is not a new phenomenon. Our society simply refamiliarizes itself with diverse inherent spiritual abilities. Having channeled professionally for fifteen years, I dedicate the initial chapters to discussing the dynamics of this phenomenon. I also explore the implications of spirit communication for all of us as beings of mind, body, and spirit.
While we acknowledge vast cultural differences across our planet, many common spiritual values unite humanity. Diverse bodies of knowledge, preserved across centuries, reveal these universal truths. One of my favorite stories illustrating this universal nature of truth comes from Paul Reps, Zen Flesh, Zen Bones (Charles E. Tuttle Company, 1958):
A university student visited a Zen master. He asked if the master had ever read the Christian Bible. The master replied he hadn’t, then asked the student to read from it.
The student began reading from St. Matthew: “And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They toil not, neither do they spin, and yet I say unto you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. . . . Take therefore no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.”
The master remarked: “Whoever uttered those words, I consider an enlightened man.”
The student continued reading: “Ask and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you. For everyone that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knoweth, it shall be opened.”
The master then observed: “That is excellent. Whoever said that isn’t far from Buddhahood.”
Truth undeniably recognizes truth. Both Freud and Jung expressed this universality in contemporary psychology. Myth, archetype, and other symbolic devices convey our common humanity. Psychology and **human spirituality** serve as powerful tools, helping us rediscover who we truly are. Therefore, this content ultimately aims to assist and inspire your personal rediscovery.
Human Spirituality: Reclaiming Your Universal Purpose
If we interpret the spiritual dimension literally, consider this: once we explore all our past lives and future potentials, only the divine exists beyond the limited dimensions of time and space. The divine is the origin and ultimate return point for everything. This spiritual renaissance guides us to the core of self-discovery. We actively co-create with the greater spirit of the divine. Some time ago, I read a compelling article in Discover magazine, part of the Time-Life series. An intellectually honest physicist wrote it, concluding that physics, at its heart, searches for truth and understanding our cosmic relationship. Science holds an axiom: existence requires observability and measurability. This scientist speculated: perhaps the universe created stars to cool and form carbon molecules. These molecules then created life forms, evolving into physicists. Physicists could then observe the universe, thus allowing its existence. Regardless of how we phrase it, our fundamental purpose here is to rediscover and reclaim our authentic selves. Everything else simply witnesses or testifies to this profound truth.
Identifying past lives suggests our immortality; we don’t perish when our bodies die. Trance channeling offers particular insights into the afterlife. Truly, we are unlimited beings. Research confirms we can sometimes access vast knowledge through extrasensory perception, bypassing physical senses. Knowledge often arises spontaneously. Inductive logic states: all answers reside where questions originate—inside us. We can express questions endlessly, searching the globe. Yet, ultimate answers reside within us. Together, we will examine ourselves and ask many similar questions. This exploration illuminates a new spirituality. It identifies clear, universal, and individually relevant human needs. We’ll explore a new spirituality based on meeting those needs. This process empowers us to help others.
